Released in July 2011 a series of eight Crazy Tetrahedrons was released. All were named after the eight planets of the solar system. After the "Crazy 3x3x3 Plus"-series and the "Crazy Megaminx Plus"-series this is the third series with eight variants named after the solar system.
Compared with the preceeding serieses this has variants where one or more sides have no circles at all. Without this it would have been impossible to find different puzzles for all eight planets. Like in the predecessors some of the circles move together with the surrounding layer and some not. These differences are achieved with different face pieces connected to cores identical to every varaint.
With four sides there are 3^4=81 possible configurations. Without symmetric duplicates there are only 12 variants left.
A variant 1111 is possible too. Solvingwise it is equivalent to 2222 which equals Jings Pyraminx.
A variant 0000 is this entry.
A variant 0012 is not part of the series.
The remaining eight variants make up this series.
The Standard puzzle is the variant 0000. It has four circles of which none are connected to the surrounding layer.
