This puzzle is a wall cube made from a 3x3x3. It can be made by shuffling he pieces of a 3x3x3 and a Fisher Cube. The pieces of the middle layer are from a Fisher Cube the rest is from an unmodified 3x3x3. The puzzle is in its solved state only twistable on the top and bottom layers. That means a midturn state is the solved state.
The remaining pieces of both preceeding puzzles can be used to create Fisher Wall Cube.
The inventor called it Pillar cube because the middle layer is a little bit smaller than the top and bottom layer like a Pillar.
In 2011 Ivanio Bellio reinvented it under the name "Cutter Cube". The images 1-3 of this puzzle were made of the sample rebuilt by Lawrence Cuthbert.
Image 4 shows the original version.
Oliver Nagy used this concept to create a joke: Two piece piece shuffles of this kind photographed together to create the illusion of a wall 3x3x6. This is seen in image 5.
Starting in 2014 this puzzle is mass produced under the name "Calvin's Fisher Wall Cube II"
