A 3x3x3 with the cutting planes rotated by 60°.
The Axis cube is a modification of a 3x3x3 Rubik's cube. It involves cutting the cube into a Hexagonal Dipyramid, and then extending it back into a cube using the cut-off parts. In short, it's a cube rotated 60 degrees along one axis.
The idea was conceived by Adam G. Cowan. The first sample was built by Aleh Hladzilin.
"Axel" (Axis) cubes being sold at Mefferts.com. Some royalties will be payed to the original builders.
