Tony Fisher was inspired by Geert Hellings version which is a bandaged 4x4x4 with some cleverly modified face pieces. Tony accepted the self-given challenge to create 2x2x6 which looks like a cuboid should look.
It was made from a 4x4x4 too.
This puzzle was been remade several times after its first invention. The first version made with CAD was not presented earlier than 2010 by Ola Jansson.
In December 2016 a mass produced version from Witeden was published. One issue though is that during about 30 degree turns layers 2 and 5 can sometimes fall out.
