Twistball is a logical puzzle toy with 20 pieces in two basic shapes - a triangle with concave sides and leaf. The pieces slide into each other thanks to embedded tracks, allowing the player to put the Twist ball together. It is a 3D puzzle without any internal mechanism. The pieces slide into each other thanks to embedded tracks that allow smooth rotation. Whenever the position of the pieces is changed, there is a distinct "click" sound. The ball can be separated into pieces and reassembled in a short time without any tools. There is no core or anything else. Just the pieces itself.
Twistball began its life in 1989 when Josip Matijek made the first prototype. A second one followed in 1996. In 1998 he filed a patent. The patent was granted in 2001 under the numbers given here. It features the same "almost hollow" mechanism used for the Twistball.
Older names are "Smartball", "Kultball", "Click Ball" and "Lopta Still Ball"
