Backers on Kickstarter for the Afterlife Cube who didn't add the actual puzzle had the option of receiving either the keychain puzzle, or a jigsaw puzzle, as a thank you gesture for funding the project. The company refers to these rewards as "gadgets". Backers who got the €25 tier would receive either gadget of their choice. Since then, the company has decided to send out both gadgets to any qualifying backer but did not send out invitations to the Toy Fair due to the company being behind on producing the puzzle in time for the fair and them not attending the fair. The gadgets consist of a single coloor cyan twisty puzzle keychain resembling the final product and sporting the company's logo, and a 110-piece jigsaw puzzle featuring the final product being interacted with in a dark environment, along with the phrase "Face an unprecedented challenge", along with the company name and the puzzle name in the lower corners.
