The "axis"ed cousin of the Fisher 3Q3S.

Directly after he presented the Fisher 3Q3S (see the seperate entry) the designer applied the concept of the Axis Cube to them, meaning he turned the puzzle by 60 inside the cube along one corner axis.

See separate entry 'Fisher 3Q3S' for the background to the "3 Quads, 3 Stripes" bandaging scheme and its application on the "Corner Pocket".
This puzzle takes the "3Q3S" name as it is does not have the piece extensions of the "Corner Pocket" - a worthy challenge left for others.

The name proposed comes from the "Diamond" shape that emerges on the top due to the geometry of the Axis Cube and the bandaging scheme, and a concern that simple sticker variants and bandaging schemes on 3x3x3s might be a little tired. In the UK the word "Hackneyed" means an idea that has been used so often that it has become boring, hence the "Hackneyed Diamond".
