A cross between the 3x3x3 and an octagonal prism. One truncated edge set of three pieces was replaced with non-truncated set.

The name translates to "Waterdrop".
This is one of the shape variants Jean-Claude Constantin custom built in the 1980s and 1990s. Although there are images to proove that Jean-Claude built this puzzle at least once it is unknown when he built it exactly. The year given here is an upper bound because around this time Jean-Claude Constantin stopped creating variants of the Rubiks Cube.
Also unknown is the name Jean-Claude gave this creation if any.

This puzzle is part of the series "Octgonal Edges". All modifications of this series are made by truncating an 3x3x3 on its edges. These truncations are symmetric as in the mass produced octagon from which the series takes its name.
The technical signature (Octagonal Edges C0000000C03) indicates where to cut the original cube.
Edge length: 57 mm
