An uncommon puzzle produced in Hong Kong.
This puzzle consists of five discs, each of which has four knobs mounted on it. Each disc can be turned in increments of 90. Each corner/colour has it's own disc. The fifth disc is in the center and overlaps the other four discs in such a way that turning the center disc rotates the four inner knobs.
Image 10 reads "Contents: gripple game with adhesive numbers". On the other packages this hint is missing. Seems like only some versions had the adhesive numbers shown in image 6. And it seems that the owner had to put on the numbers himself.
Murray Gould, the inventor of this puzzle, was president of M-Squared, the original producer of this puzzle. He had planned to come out with a followup puzzle which was called SUPER GRIPPLE, and then TRIPLE GRIPPLE by 1990. TRIPLE GRIPPLE was three dimensional and each was progressively more difficult than the original.
Edge length: 117 mm
Weight: 119 grams
