This puzzle can be viewed in two different ways:
1. It could be viewed as a Diamond Octahedron, a 2x2x3, that was bandaged on the middle layer.
2. It could be viewed as the Square-1/2 that was shape transformed into an octahedron without the typical incomplete turns.
This shows how the Square-1 transforms into a 2x2x3 if there are only four pieces on the top and bottom layers.
