A 3x3x3 version of Dave's Diamond.

Dave's Diamond 3x3x3 takes the same concept as the original Dave's Diamond, of two overlapping rotationally offset cubes, and applies it to 3x3x3 cubes instead of 2x2x2 cubes. The result is a puzzle with many more pieces, requiring 3x3x3 supercube solving even to scramble fully.
The mechanism for the puzzle is related to the mechanism for the original Dave's Diamond, but more rails were needed to hold all of the parts onto the puzzle. This resulted in two different designs being tried to get around the problem of too much friction in the core of the puzzle.
Images 6-9 show the mechanism of a version earlier than the version shown in the other images.
