The inner core of this puzzle is a mass produced mini 2x2x2 (35 mm). The inventor designed extensions for this core and thereby created four additional cores and created two additional types of turns:
1. The top and bottom layer of the 4 "barrels" can turn in-place. See image 1.
2. The outer half of each barrel can also rotate 180 degrees as well. See image 3.

The inventor is somewhat unhappe with his creation. The main issue is that the outer barrel pieces is a bit loose, which makes the puzzle a bit unsatisfying to manipulate. Also the outermost "pie" shaped pieces can come out pretty easily in some scenarios.
