Click a thumbnail to see its larger version and description.
A Kilominx turned by 90° inside its solid. A puzzle with still with a high order of symmetry.

This is a kilominx where the inner dodecahedral mechanism is rotated by 90 degrees around the center of an edge with respect to the outer dodecahedron.
This variant still has a high degree of symmetry (pyritohedral symmetry in fact) due to the wonderful fact that tetrahedral symmetry is a subgroup of dodecahedral symmetry, a fact that has many other uses like the compound of 5 tetrahedra. Because of this, there are only 2 types of outer pieces: the 12 on a single face and the 8 at corners in mirror symmetric pairs.
It was printed with i.Materialize and the stickers were cut with a Silhouette Cameo 3.
Diameter (inner): 54 mm
Weight: 45 grams
