Cubes made out of tiles, taken from Rubik's Magic, rewired to create a 3D version of Rubik's Magic.

The inventor repurposed panels and wires from the Rubik's Magic to make a brand new puzzle! It's composed of cubes, not panels, and the stringing is completely different, and it features his own original artwork.
He calls it the meta cube, mainly because of my original tessellation, that tessellates the whole cube, at different scales and with meta references to itself. It's also meta as in 'beyond,' beyond itself and any other similar puzzle! It's as different from the Magic as the Magic is from the Jacob's Ladder, and I consider it to be the next stage of evolution of the same type of object as those two things.
The meta cube is primarily a toy for manipulation, and most of the fun comes from finding the different shapes you can make out of it, of which there are many, and this is only the 2x2x2 version. But it is also a puzzle, with one picture that covers the whole outside of the cube. Inside this picture are pictures of shapes you can make with the puzzle, with the cube faces in the configuration that actually appear on those shapes when you make the shapes. So there are many "solutions" to the meta cube.
