This puzzle was designed as something like a hybrid between Square-1 and Missing Link. Similar to the Square-1 it has only one axis perpendicular to the top-down axis.
The additional holes in the sides resemble the Missing Link or other moving hole puzzles. Unlike the Missing Link it has two sets of four columns of which the pieces can be exchanged thanks to the Square-1-moves.
