A higher order version of the Vulcano.

The inventor designed this puzzle with his friend TheMoui.
Initially he wanted to see a tetrahedral FTO, after some tries it seemed that the only way to achieve that was to make curvy cuts, like on a Rex Cube, with strait cuts the vertices of the tetrahedron can't be attached. Then they saw that 2 tetrahedral shape mods of the Rex Cube had already been done.

So Raphaël tried again the strait cuts but with extruded faces, the shape was interesting, his friend told me that it could be great to add cuts to make the face pattern full of triangles, and that was a very good idea. Raphaël also tried to add more cuts to allow the very outer layers to turn independently, but combining these 2 new cuts was impossible, some pieces can't be anchored. So the two decided to keep the more aesthetic version.
The Tharsis was born! The name comes from a martian volcanic plateau, with reference to Meffert's Vulcano (AKA Trignis). Compared to the Vulcano, the Tharsis has 3 new type of pieces.

The puzzles consists of 75 pieces, 168 stickers.
Edge length: 73 mm
Height: 84 mm
Weight: 148 grams
