A varikon with four layers and four columns of marbles moved with a single hole steeming from the soviet union.
This puzzle's is named (according to the package) ??????? ???????????, transliterated Igrushka Golovolomka which means toy puzzle. This very generic name was used for other soviet puzzles as well.
As usual, several slightly different versions were produced in the soviet union including many different body colours.
The original price given here is based on the official exchange rate (0.6 roubles per dollar) although in socialist time this was completely theoretical. The price (in roubles) is visible with embossed letters on the top of the puzzle.
The white version was priced at 0.90 roubles.
The black version (see images 8-10) was priced at 2.40 roubles.
