Skewb Shift was suggested by Bram Cohen. It is a Skewb version of Gear Shift. When the puzzle is in its rest state, all gears can spin together. Skewb Shift can be pulled a bit apart in four directions.In the pulled-apart state, half of the gears can spin independently of the other half.
