The 5x6x7 I-cube has 2 faces that has been modded, the orange face which is 2 layers deep and the green face which is 3 layers deep. The inventor chose 2 adjacent faces and not 2 opposite ones to make the five layers on one axis, because he thought that it would make the puzzle less symmetrical and therefore more challenging.
