A Radiolarian 3 (a face turning icosahedron) redesigned to have the shape of a cube.
The Radio Cube 3 is a cubic transformation of a face turning icosahedron. The design was made based on the DeFTI but some differences were introduced. It has the same pieces as Jason's Radiolarian 3, hence the name. The cuts are curvy, and many friends have said it is reminiscent of the inventor's Celtic Cube.
Since the symmetry groups of the hexahedron and icosahedron are incompatible the puzzle changes its shape and there seem to be two different types of twists although they are identical from the mathematical point of view.
As with all deep cut icosahedrons, this puzzle jumbles. What is interesting about this puzzle is that due to the massive amounts of shape changing, it is very difficult to distinguish when you are doing a jumbling turn from when you are just moving that same group in the right orientation.
It cannot be made from a mass produced Eitan's star.
