A hybrid between 2x2x2 and skewb. Two deepcut axis systems in one puzzle.
This is another design of Adam G Cowan which saw the light of day with the help of another member of the community. In this case Jason Smith created the first working sample of this puzzle and presented it in december 2009 but never stickered it. This first version was simply named "Skewb + 2x2x2".
In 2012 Vladimir Yaroslavskiy presented an own design based on magnets which is shown on the images here. Vladimir named his creation "Super Z" as an obvious reference to the Super X another design by Adam Cowan.
To make things even more complicated Tim Selkirk presented his own prototype you can see in image 5. As far as it is known he never came up with a completed version. He wanted to call it "Oxo Skewb".
Among the other hybrid puzzles this one is special because it combines two deepcut axis systems into one.
