This could be viewed as a straightforward shape transformation. But that doesn't do justice to all the work which was invested into this puzzle because it was made by hand. It is an extensions-only transformation. That is the reason why the long diagonal has the edge length of the original Master Skewb this puzzle was made from. This puzzle does not change its shape while being scrambled.
