In 2010 Katsuhiko Okamoto the designer of the original Void Cube came up with a new design and called it "The New Void Cube". Compared with the original version it has circular holes which are bigger than the original ones were.
In 2012 Winning moves (license taker of Seven Towns which again own the brand "Rubiks") started selling the "The Void Puzzle" based on Mr. Okamotos design. In additional to the circular holes the corners are rounded too. The stickers on the remaining plane area therefore look like a ring.
