Eight 3x3x3's connected with one 6x6x6 between them. Since they share only one piece each the nine puzzles can be solved independently.
Seems like the creator had to many 3x3x3 and did not know what to do with them. Although this is technically a siamese-variant the single components can be solved independent from each other because only one corner (all corners for the cenral 6x6x6) is affected.
