A 2x2x2 version of the Tartan Cube.

Dan Hoey and Jim Saxe came up with the original Tartan 3x3x3 design on a posting to cube-lovers at M.I.T. back in 1981. It was their task to use only 4 colours to make a supergroup cube.

This is a 2x2x2 version of their design created by Mark Longridge.

It's interesting to notice that you can figure out what the colour patters on the three unseen sides will be by just examining the three visible sides.
