A 3x3x3 with six edges truncated like an octagon. A highly symmetric truncation.
This puzzle can be made from pieces taken from a pillow cube. 6 edge pieces as found in the octagon are needed and 6 corners pieces as found in the pillow cube. This specific sample is not a piece shuffle. Its pieces were made from scratch. If the tips of this puzzle are truncated too the result is the hex prism which was invented later.
The technical signature of this modification is Octagonal Edges 21C8800044E10.
