A highly customized 4x4x4 cube.

This was an ordinary 4x4x4 cube in its first life. The center pieces of the top and bottom layers are trimmed down to a circle, allowing them to turn independently of the pieces around them. Then the remaining pieces are fused together. Pieces of a second 4x4x4 were used to make the 1st and 6th layers. Layers 2 and 5 are hold by the surface of the extensions attached to the 8 centers. Blocks of wood or plastic could be used to make these pieces if you don't want to sacrifice a second 4x4x4 cube to the cause.
This puzzle can still be turned like a 2x2x2 cube, leading to some very interesting shapes if shape changing turns are applied.
This building could only be applied to the 4x4x4s with the mechanism from Peter Sebesteny. With other mechanisms it will not work. The KOs with a ball core are too loose for that purpose. Precision is needed since the center pieces might fall into the cavity created by the circle corridor.
