The Radiolarian 5 unbandaged by one step.

The Radiolarian 5+ is an unbandaged version of Jason Smith's Radiolarian 5, which is a face-turning icosahedron with a cut depth just a bit deeper than Eitan's Star (aka Radiolarian 4). This 5+ puzzle adds in a few unbandaging cuts to split up the largest parts of the puzzle, opening new avenues for scrambling fun.
The puzzle turns really well, except for one troublesome mechanical issue that is inherent to this geometry: the tiny edge pieces can rotate on their own. This often happens inadvertently when turning a face, and it hasn't gotten much better after breakin of the puzzle.
Edge length: 70 mm
Weight: 558 grams
