The original name is "????????????? ?????", transliterated "Zanimatelnyi Kubik", translated "amusing cube".
This puzzles is also known as "Minus Cube Puzzle" in Russian sources. It was produced in two different places: Moscow and Sverdlovsk (currently Ekaterinburg). Both variants have two-color cubes that are made of two parts. The difference was that due to slightly different scheme of cubes placement within the box, the two variants have a different number of solutions.
Like many puzzles it was produced with different colour schemes. One with white&orange is not shown here.
The original price is based on the official exchange rate (0.6 roubles per dollar) although in socialist time this was completely theoretical. The price (in roubles) is visible directly on the paper stripe.
