Hi, guys!

I'm happy to present my craziest puzzle to date.

You can see I struggle aligning after every move. The mechanism is exactly the same as Spartacus and in fact I can swap pieces between them. In Dodecahedral shape it works great but here maybe it is sensitive to the difference in torque applied on a grip. You can see the moves equivalent to a Compy Cube where the torque is even on all sides it moves better. Oh, I forgot to mention - there is actually a 3-rd puzzle in this hybrid - a fully functional Compy Cube witch is a subset of the Radio Cube

I already did a few Compy solves and it's a lot of fun

In it's cubic form it actually combines 2 existing puzzles - Radio Cube 3 and Cubeultimate

Both puzzles are hard to solve and I don't know if the combination of them will be harder or easier.

This is one of the most complex cubes I've ever seen, stunning!

I are hope we get ANY mass produced Radio Cube one day. It's the only one we're missing in terms of cubic platonic solids.

I really like this graphic presentation. It lets my dumb brain understand the nature of this puzzle immediately!

this is beautiful. the cuts on it remind of of astronomical diagrams, for some reason. maybe i'm thinking of an astrolabe.
will this (and Spartacus) be available on iMaterialise, by any chance?

my mind was doing an association thing with astronomy: what this actually reminds me of is the Eye of Ra amulet from Stargate -- which i suppose makes the name 'Eye of Horus' doubly appropriate, since the 'Eye of Ra' amulet actually uses the 'Eye of Horus' symbol.

@crypticat - Good find, I love Stargate Actually my first thought when I saw the face patern was that it looks like something made by Giger - an egg or a cocoon suspended on slimy silk threads
As for a DIY version - I will not put this or Spartacus in my shop. It's ultra complex and I will end up spending my free time supporting the eventual buyer. Not that there will be any buyer considering the price.
But if someone wants an assembled Spartacus just PM me.

I remember the time when the Radio Cube 3 was the Pinnacle of twisty puzzles engineering, but no, now we are making hybrids with it. Absolutely amazing, and I agree with otischeng, great way of presentation to better understand what it exactly is.

Instead of choosing the best puzzle of 2017, I think we're better of making a top 100.. So many amazing puzzles have been announced or released this year.

Wow, your puzzles have gotten steadily crazier and crazier! I feel like it hasn't even been a year when you first designed the Seed.

Great job. Too bad it will likely enter the hall of "ridiculously complex puzzles that will never be scrambled or solved even once"...

This is a stunning puzzle! I'm curious, though: Can the Radio Cube moves always happen as long as the Pentultimate turns are aligned?

@Sam - The Seed was posted in the forum on 30 November 2016 - exactly a year ago. A good progress considering I never did anything CAD related before

You can see in the picture the red Pentultiate cut is blocked, but the others work just fine.

BTW I saw there was a competition once in the forum for most piece types in a single puzzle. This puzzle has 39 piece types, so it can be beaten by Jason's Big Chop eventually. I need to check but I think the cube also had 39. Can someone explain why this similarity?

Looking at the original post it was made in the beginning of December exactly 5 years ago. Since then I worked a lot on the mechanism and made big improvements to make it completely playable and a lot lot easier to assemble. I thought of a way to make some parts preassembled by the SLS printer and now I'm confident enough to offer it in my i.materialise shop for people to assemble it themselves.

i love the new look of the puzzle.
i also love the fact that the soundtrack to your video is an unrelated explanation of IATA codes, which i've always been kind of fascinated by.
