Hi everyone!
Let me introduce my latest puzzle: the Ghost Octahedron.
I worked hard on this one... I had the idea in october 2015, at this time, I had just finished my very first 3D printed puzzle, and I was far to be sure I could carry out such a project.
I restarted it 3 times, from scratch, because I learned new things from my other projects that I had to take in account.
I wanted to make it as best as I can. For this reason I wanted it to have springs, I also give a different thickness to all the external walls of each pieces, related to the surface they have, that way, the big flat pieces do not bend when I press on them.
For the finishing, I used sandpaper with 240 grain, then 500, then 1000. So the stickers can easily stick on the polyamide, I only put a bit of super glue under the really small ones.
As my Axis Octahedron, the puzzle is mechanically similar to the Dino Octa and the Crazy Octahedron Plus Standard, an FTO with center pieces.
The puzzle is the same size as the Crazy Octahedron Plus, about 97mm of edge length.
It use 8 Dayan screws and springs, but it can also support M3 screws.
