As the name suggests, this puzzle is designed by applying the idea of the 4 Corners Cube to a rhombic dodecahedron. Since the 4 Corners Cube is a shallow-cut face turning triakis tetrahedron transformed into a cube, the 8 Corners Rhombic Dodecahedron is a shallow-cut face turning triakis octahedron transformed into a rhombic dodecahedron. It can be also seen as a shape variant of the Trifurcation Cube (aka Clover Cube) mass produced by VeryPuzzle.
The puzzle has the same size and colour scheme as a mass produced Rua.
