A mass produced shape variant of the 3x3x3 from the original cube craze. The shape gave the puzzle its name.

A standard 3x3x3 cube with sliced off sections giving it 14 sides. It is solved like a normal Rubik's cube. The shape is a cuboctahedron one of the archimedean solids.
It is very similar to the "Truncated Cube" and the "Truncated Trajber's Octahedron", though this one is deeper cut as the former and shallower than the latter.
Back in the eighties it was sold under the names "Wonderful Puzzler", "Diamond Puzzler", "Dream puzzler", "Magicube". Due to this wealth of names it is named here just after its shape.
It was mentioned in David Singmasters Cubic Circular Issue 1 from Autum 1981.
Size (of the cubic package): 65 x 65 x 71 mm
Edge length: 39 mm
Weight: 95 grams
