






Stellated Skewb from Meffert's parts. The first sample were made without exchanged pieces.

Can be produced by swapping pieces between a Skewb and a Skewb Diamond. Use the pointed pieces of both. By assembling the remaining pieces a Mama Skewb can be made.
The first samples were made before the mass produced Skewb Diamonds and therefore the six pyramids on the square pieces had to be made by hand.
Its shape is called "First stellation of cuboctahedron" or "Compound of cube and octahedron".
The year given here is an upper bound.
It was shown in an image from James Dalgetys collection no later than 1990.
This puzzle was shown in "The book of ingenious and diabolical puzzles" from 1994.
In 1998 Tony Fisher remade this puzzle unknowing the predecessor. Like the inventor Mr Fisher had to create six pyramids for himself.
Since 2010 a mass produced variant "Wolf Tooth" can be purchased.
