Noisy Cube is based on an idea by Ulrich Meffert, the son of the late Uwe Meffert. Ulrich wanted to make a noisy cube by adding ratchets. The ratchets have the added effect that sides can be turned in only one direction. This may make the puzzle a bit harder to solve for some solvers although the algorithms did not change.
