Let's
start with the first corner. The rule here is: Go for a corner that contains a blue
sticker. One that has a white sticker is considered to be the enemy. Corners with white stickers are to be ignored.
Note: The white centre sticker is shown throughout
these steps just as a guide to where the white face is.
The first corner we can see from this angle that
has a blue sticker is the GREEN, ORANGE & BLUE one. Taking blue away means
we are also looking for the edge cubie that has GREEN & ORANGE. We can see
it on the opposite side of the cube.
|
Let's
angle the whole cube over a bit so we can see the edge cube. There it is. At first,
you might be fooled into thinking that we are in Situation No 1, but we're not.
If you were to rotate the red face anticlockwise once to match the corner with
the edge, the green would not line up with the other green. Therefore, we are
not 1 move away from joining them, and so we are not in Situation No 1.
|
Let's
rotate the green face once clockwise which places the green and orange edge cubie
just under the waterline. The reason we have done this, is if you have a close
look, the green and orange of the edge cubie now lines up with the same colours
of the corner cubie.
|
By
turning the white face once clockwise, this happens...
We have successfully joined the corner and edge
cubies. However, we are not out of the woods yet. The green and blue edge cubie
which usually lives on the bottom is still sticking out to the left, just under
the waterline. It likes to live in deeper waters...
|
So
turn the green face anti-clockwise once to place it back at the bottom.
Doing this this has caused a second thing to happen.
It has also brought our pair to the top layer.
Hey! What do you know... we happen to be in Situation
No 2. Now that we are in this situation, we can easily move the pair into place
under the waterline together.
|
First,
let's change angles for second to get a better look. This is called the orange
and green pair, therefore it's only right that they go into the hole in the waterline
between the orange and green centres.
|
Rotate
the white face once clockwise so that the cube looks like this.
|
Rotate
the green face once clockwise to bring the green and blue edge in line with the orange
and green pair.
|
Turn
the white face anti-clockwise once to match them all up together.
|
And
of course, rotating the green face once anti-clockwise once to bring the whole
section back under the waterline, into the hole. We have now completed the first
pair.
Move to Step 4.
