If you want to follow along with the tutorial using a real cube rather than just watching and learning, you will need to mix your cube up the same as the tutorials. This can be done by starting with a solved cube and then mixing it up in a certain way that I will provide.

If you know how to solve the cube using another method, do it now. If you don't know how to do the cube at all, DONT PEEL THE STICKERS! That is a mortal sin. There are other ways to get it solved.

1. You can turn a face 45 degrees and pry out an edge cubie. From here, the whole thing will come apart fairly easily. Now put it back together in the correct order. Or..

2. You can download Cube Explorer for windows by Herbert Kociemba and use the program to paint a copy of your current cube configuration on the screen. The program will then show you about 16 - 20 moves to get it back to the solved state.

At the end of the day, either way, you will start with this:

Hold the cube so that the RED face is to your right, the BLUE face is on top and the YELLOW face is facing you. Follow these instructions:

1. Turn the Yellow face twice.
2. Turn the Blue face once clockwise.
3. Turn the Orange face twice.
4. Turn the Yellow face twice.
5. Turn the Blue face once clockwise.
6. Turn the Red face twice.
7. Turn the Green face twice.
8. Turn the Blue face once anti-clockwise.
9. Turn the Orange face once anti-clockwise.
10. Turn the White face once clockwise.
11. Turn the Orange face once clockwise.
12. Turn the White face once clockwise.
13. Turn the Orange face once clockwise.
14. Turn the Green face once anti-clockwise.
15. Turn the White face twice.
16. Turn the Blue face once clockwise.
17. Turn the Orange face once clockwise.
18. Turn the White face twice.
19. Turn the Yellow face twice.

You should now have this:

If your cube is ok and you're ready... go to Step 1.
