TWISTYPUZZLES.COM NEWSLETTER
Issue #25 - August 2004
Hello again, everyone!

Another late newsletter, but I think it was worth the wait! Not only are there a load of new features to report, there is also the incredible collection of Katsuhiko Okamoto puzzles. If there isn't enough information about his work below, be sure to check out his website here.

In the month of July, we managed to add 19 new items, modify 21 more, and add 123 new high-quality pictures. Special thanks go out to Katsuhiko who added ten, Adam who added three and updated four, Jeff Goetz and Matthew R Parry who each added one and updated one, Stefan Pochmann, Sean Boyer, Vadim and Andreas Nortmann who each added one, and nicky_uk, Loius, John Spilsbury and m0monga183 who each updated one.

New Features / Changes / Bug Fixes

The following is a list of the things that have changed on the site over the past month. You may already have noticed these changes in place.

  1. Unique Item Counter. Added a new field to the Collection Manager which keeps track of the number unique items appearing in each collection. Thanks to Andreas Nortman for the suggestion.
  2. New Database Fields. Added the Original Price and Patent Number fields to each item entry in the puzzle database.
  3. Price Tracking System. Added a new system for tracking prices of all items in the database, along with over 700 records of my personal price tracking data from the past few years. Check out the Price Tracking System item in the Site Features menu. Contribute often to help keep the information current!
  4. Newsletter Subscription. Finally got around to repairing the newsletter subscription method. It used to open in a new window (an artifact from the old frames design), and there was no "thank you" message. Both things fixed.
  5. Smilie Images. Replaced the Network54.com smilie images that were still appearing in old forum messages with the new TwistyPuzzles.com versions.
  6. User Uploaded Images. Copied all the user uploaded images from the TwistyMegasite.com forum to TwistyPuzzles.com and updated all the forum messages which point to them.
  7. Clickable URLs. Updated all the old URLs from messages orginally entered on TwistyMegasite.com so that they automatically turn into clickable links. I now consider converstion of the old forums complete.
