I have made two cube mods and i think for a first timer they look good.

Your mods indeed look good. But no, I wouldn't know how to name your second mod. It's not really an edges only cube. Nor would I say it's simply a truncated cube.

But you have to start somewhere

The corners are like switch and mirrored:
BDL<->FUR
BDR<->FUL
FDL<->BUR
FDR<->BUL

When looking at the F face you see on the edges the B face
and that on all the faces R L U D.Then the corners are mirrored.

Its quit hard to solve for just a 3x3

I put alot of time in the AO_2CO pic's to make that cube
Now i think i can make that alot faster but every start is difficult.

The AO_1 where alot easyer to make only the stickers
The AO_1 now looks a bit like Alexander star

Its looks to me im the first who make that kind of cube mod.
So i can give it a name then

alexander's stars do not have corners, so i think "aso" would be a missclassification.

that sure does look beautiful though, i imagine its a lot harder to get the corners in the correct orientation on the first try for L1
