Very interesting.
It seems to be a 3x3, with the center pieces changed into a big center pieces and overlapping over the corners, and the edges transformed into longer ones, overlapping over the corners too.
All the previous mixed with a rounded shape.
Any other idea?
It's so cool anyway!

For some reason, I think this is a little bit more customized than just a "simple" edges only cube.

He's already done that in an earlier topic.

OK, at first glance I thought it looked kind of interesting. Then I thought about how it might work, thinking it was some sort of round edges only cube. Then I saw the first link that Thomas posted, and now I'm thinking I'm REALLY impressed with this!
If anyone here can translate it correctly, please tell Daqing how pleased I am!

He has a lot of skewb balls to cut up. I wonder where he's getting them. He's done some amazing stuff with them.

I'm somewhat confident this is a 3x3 mech. Great work as always! I need to start learning chinese!

Post count does't mean anything. He has earned far more respect from me then many of the 3x3s and 4x4s here.

Hmm, the only 1x2x2s I've seen are made from bandaged 2x2x2s. Is this made that way? I guess it looked different to me. Comment rescinded.

It is different. It's the natural way indeed, and it's been sketched several times in different topics here. Yet it's the first time I see a 2x2x1 made this way as it requires the mechanism made from scratch. Which is what we see in those pictures. Adam's 2x2x1 was made from a bandaged 2x2x2. Also, the Morph puzzle pictured there is a 2x2x1 too, and has a clever mechanism that is essentially a 2x2x2 bandaged at the mechanism level. Take a look inside for yourself, it's very interesting.
