NKC, the Dutch Cubists Club, will organise the 27th edition of the Dutch Cube Day (DCD 2007) this year on Sunday, October 14th in Eindhoven in the southern part of The Netherlands.

At the DCD 2007 there will be an extensive puzzle-solving contest with official timers (the ‘Dutch Open’) and lots of opportunities to meet puzzle friends, to buy/sell/exchange puzzles or just to look at puzzles (probably various new puzzles and mods will be shown!!!) . Probably there will also be a couple of lectures on puzzles. In the past years some 150 puzzle collectors attended the Dutch Cube Days. Please note that these Cube Days are not limited to twisty puzzles but are also about all other kind of mechanical puzzles and brainteasers.

For reasons of insurance, to avoid the presence of non-puzzle people and because of catering reasons it is formally required to be invited for the DCD 2007. Members of NKC are automatically invited and will read all about this in the upcoming editions of CFF (Cubism For Fun), the magazine of NKC. In case you are not a member of NKC and would like to participate, it is required to apply in advance for a formal invitation. In that case, please send me an e-mail (preferably) or a pm.

The entrance fee for the Cube Day is Euro 10.00 per person for NKC-members and Euro 15.00 for non-NKC-members. This includes coffee and tea and the usual informal lunch.

On behalf of NKC and the organising committee,

Geert Hellings

Hmm Eindhoven, that would make my travel time a bit less, that would make up 10 min compared to Delft :P why aren't there any competitions in Enschede ;)

I'd be interested to see them, at least before and after being blindfolded.

And of course, if anybody is interested to see (NOT BUY!) some of the puzzles I've collected, I will take them with me.

Hi all,
if someone wants to see/touch/play with some of the puzzles I won or bought, just let me know, I'll do my best to bring them to the DCD, too.
See at http://www.tiex.de/cubecorner (there are some new puzzle, which are not listed
there so far - e.g. Danger Cube, but I'll do my best to complete the list beginning of Oct.)

Cheers - Frank

Do we also get a short email as a registration confirmation?
I know it's some additional effort, but could also help to reduce unnecessary questions.

Thanks in advance - Frank

Yes, as always, all people who have registered will receive a formal invitation with the agenda of the day and a route description.
This will be sent approximately two weeks in advance of the DCD.

However, in case someone has a question and/or a request, please do not wait and just contact me (preferably by regular e-mail).

I will also be coming to DCD!!!

My wife and I haven't had a vacation in some time so we are going to London and then the Netherlands.

I will have some BioHazards to show, and I hope to have some to sell if I have time to make a few more.

I can bring my Smart Alex for Juozas to see, but I confess it isn't in the best of shape (it has loosened over time). I'll also bring my Brilic and Bump Cube, and anything else requested:
http://twistypuzzles.com/cgi-bin/cm-view.cgi?cid=198

I will be *sure* to take many pictures.

Frank: Bring the hoax 9x9x9!

Sure, the 9x9x9 hoax will be there
You also have a Brilic? So mine it #13/14. And in the forum I found some other members with a Brilic. Do we get them all together?

A Brilic club reunion!

When I purchased mine Aleh said he has made only 14 and said he kept #13 for himself. Geert has the last (#14), mine is #12, so yours must be #11 or less. I know Reeech has one, Georges, skeneegee (#1 or #2?), Tony Fisher, Adam (Puzzlemaster42). Who else?

Call out if you are in the Brilic club!

Aleh could also post a list, and would know the numbering. He numbered the box mine came in, but I am not sure he numbered them all.

Hey reeeech,

why should I tell something about a puzzle here, which I don't have.
It could only get awkward for me. No reason for that.
And if I didn't own it, I would keep quiet and wait until Uwe published it next year (for less money ).

So what?

Ugh, Ok... NOTE to self... Don't write anything in a joking or sarcastic manner. None of this EVER comes across the right way on the internet...

(note to Frank... "j/k" means Just Kidding... it was only a joke - pointing out that Dave said Aleh has #13... which then you said you have #13. Then I was wondering which one Aleh has - Then I said if I was him, I would probably keep #1 (as in the first one he made)....

reeech was only messing about!

But there is something strange. Frank T, you say you have #13 or #14, which is it? But then david says Geert has #14 and Aleh has #13. So the two stories are contradicting.

I have #13 of 14 as Aleh told me.
At least he wrote #13 on the box in which I proudly got my Brilic.
I just added the respective picture to my site and here it is, too.

I have #11. Sorry but I'm not taking it to DCD. I will be there though. Not sure if I'm taking any of my custom made puzzles but I had some puzzles made special for DCD 2007.

One more information to #13 and #14:
Aleh said, that #13 is a 12-colour version and #14 a 6-colour version.

So the next question is:
Which version has 6 or 12 colours?

Are they all 12-coloured except the last one or are there more 6-colour Brilics?

Perhaps he sold you the one he intended to keep for himself, when did you buy it?

Perhaps I just mis-heard him. But I know I heard him say he had made twelve, and was only to make two more. At this point I asked if I could buy one of the last two and he agreed. When Geert heard I was buying the next-to-last one, he contacted Aleh to get the last. Since I have #12:
Image
and I recall him saying he intended to keep #13, I presumed Geert had #14.

Now I am all confused :?

Mine, #12, is the full 12 color.

No, I hadn't a picture of the Brilic in its case, so I offered a partial glance at my vitrine.
Yes, indeed, I was hoping to get some envious comment.
Now which one is correct?

If you remember from last time, Georges' vitrine has some vicious teddy bear guards. It is not possible to steal more than one puzzles without being noticed (and then possibly experience a horrible fluffy death).
