The CD Rom is a puzzle tool to make an inventory of your collection, it work like the one on Sansy site.

About the puzzles

It took me 2 hours to solve the 4x4x5 so it is very difficult, all the odd permutations needs a different nethod. Also the oder to sort the pieces is new. It helps if you know the 2x2x3 and the 4x4x4

The 2x2x4 is trivial if you know to solve the 2x3x3

the 2x3x4 is very nice, not hard to solve, but confusion because it can change chape. Again it helps if you know the 2x2x3

The 3x3x4 is not that hard if you know to solve the 2x3x3,

So in short the basis to solve these puzzle is the method to solve the 2x2x3, I use my a own method for a 2x2x3

Congratulations!
What an addition to your collection!
By the way what is that puzzle, behind the Okki and next to Dino cube's box? I can't figure out if it's a star-like puzzle or a 3-colour triangle stickers there?

Also I was wondering if you took any pics of the people on the day, stalls etc. like last year? If you did, are you going to post them anywhere?

Holy cow, when I first saw that picture, I figured most of the cubes were extension cubes. I guess they are the fully functioning real thing.

The Tony Fisher puzzle you can order via Geert Hellings

see http://www.twistymegasite.com/forum/vie ... p?ID=16316

I lubricated them with silicone spray, apply as much as possible(not Oilbased!) after this they turn excelent.

This is the first time I hear of new Eastsheen mini 2x2x2. Are they available anywhere? I'd love to get ahold of a few. They must have made new mini-kernel for these cubes, which might be good for modding.

It was the first I knew of it too. I don't know where the seller got them from.

The kernel is endeed a small version of the big 2x2x2 kernel. The cubies' caps can be slid off if you push the little catch inside them, just like the large version. I would think it is quite good for 2x2x2 shape modifications,
maybe less easily so for extensions, but I'm not an expert in that area.

I also had a great time at the cube day. Highlights for me were in no particular order:

- Finding a BetchaCan't puzzle by Tandem Toys, a Buvos Golyok, and 3 books I wanted, all for 12 euro. That's the advantage of getting there early.

- Getting some of the new mini 2x2x2's. They are by Eastsheen, the cubies are the same size as the cubies of their 5x5x5 cube.

- Seeing and playing with Tony Fischer's new creations. They are not the kind of thing I would buy for my collection, but they look awesome.

- Helping out with the speedcubing competition at the end of the day. One notable moment was when Ron's cube had an explosive pop, shedding more than half its pieces.

Jaap

P.S. Vadim, that puzzle is a differently coloured Okki, I think made from two pyramorphixes.

I solved the 4x4x5 in a new world record time of 7:53.95 ;)

I think this puzzle can be solved in 4:00 avarage, however I can not speedcube with it. It is a bit expensive and i might damaged it.

Very nice haul, Ton! Although only about half the size of last year's pile!

I have a few questions / observations:

- What is in the plastic bag on the bottom left of the photograph?
- What is that white cube in front of the CD?
- Am I seeing a trasparent item on top of the CD case, behind the white cube?
- The colour scheme on the dotted Gem (to the left on the Dino) is a great idea... I think I'll try that one out!
- I can't make out pattern for the other Gem (triangles). Am I right in guessing that each triangle is three-coloured essentially like the 2x2x2: six colours that match up two at a time along the slices, each piece being mirrored on the opposite face when solved?
- Did someone resticker that Tomas Ball?

Sandy

Ton, for each of the new Tony Fisher puzzles, could you please let us know the sizes in all dimensions? How do they compare to regular, and Eastsheen's 3x3x3, 4x4x4, 5x5x5 puzzles? Thanks!

Some answers
>about half the size of last year's pile!
But I spend more!

- What is in the plastic bag on the bottom left of the photograph?
A free gift from the Puzzle day a take-a-part puzzle

- What is that white cube in front of the CD?
A small white 2x2x2

- Am I seeing a trasparent item on top of the CD case, behind the white cube?
A Rubiks.com promotion stand

- The colour scheme on the dotted Gem (to the left on the Dino) is a great idea... I think I'll try that one out!

- I can't make out pattern for the other Gem (triangles).
It was made by Jurgen Brandt, the are triangles on each face of the "okki", there are six colors
>Am I right in guessing that each triangle is three-coloured essentially like the 2x2x2: six colours that match up two at a time along the slices, each piece being mirrored on the opposite face when solved?

Yes

- Did someone resticker that Tomas Ball?
Yes Jurgen Brandt

The dimensions of the a regular 3x3x3 cube is 56 mm, a Eastheen 4x4x4 is 60 mm , a Eastheen 5x5x5 is 60 mm, a Eastheen min 2x2x is 24 mm

2x2x4 67 mm x 67 mm x 135 mm
2x3x4 67 mm x 110 mm x 135 mm
3x3x4 65 mm x 65 mm x 89 mm
4x4x5 89 mm x 89 mm x 112 mm

Ton
