Hello,

I've posted here before but its been a while. Anyways... I've been after these two kits for a while now. I think several years.

I admit I haven't watched too closely but every 4 months or so I think to check back and see if they are in stock. They aren't. I also check ebay once a month or so and to be honest I have yet to see them there.

Any tips as to where to get these? My last email to meffert asking when or if these would ever be in stock again went unanswered. Granted that was probably back around Christmas.

Thanks for any help you can offer. If any of you here have these can you tell me what info is on the CDs?

Carl

I got mine from ebay a few years ago. I only opened 1, the other is still sealed in plastic wrap. Mefferts has them, but I know they have been out of stock for quite a long time. The cd's contain assembly info, but I don't know what else. I may be able to check mine out, but it would be a few weeks before I could get to it. I have not seen any of these on Ebay for a long time either. They seemed to have dissapeared or were not very popular.

Thanks for the info Dodd. If you get a chance to check PLEASE let me know. A few weeks wait is no problem at all. As I said I've been slowly waiting for Mefferts to get them back in stock and that has now been a 2 or 3 year wait I think so a few weeks is nothing.

Do you have one each of the 4x4x4 and the 5x5x5? Or two each, one opened and one still sealed? If you'd be interested in selling let me know too. I'd open them first thing myself so I don't really care if they've been opened or not as long as I got all the parts and the CD.

Thanks,
Carl

You can find the Eastsheen site here - http://www.eastsheen.com.tw/eastsheen.htm. I don't think they sell through this site, though.

Torito also has them listed at - http://torito.jp/shopping/_diykit.shtml

Thanks for the information...

I went to the Eastsheen site and tried the "contact us" page. I asked them about how to purchase their 4x4x4 and 5x5x5 DIY kits and hit the send button and nothing happened. I rebooted and tried a few more times and still nothing. I guess I've either sent them a half dozen questions now or none... No way to know for sure I guess unless I get a reply. Does anyone have an email address for them?

The torito site looks promissing but I can't read japanese. I see the "How to order" button in English at the top and when I click on it I just see alot more Japanese. However I do see this order@torito.jp so I'll email them in English and see if I get a reply.

Thanks for all the help,
Carl

Oh wow, that "contact us" must be new. I checked a few months ago and all I found was a fax number.

The HTML code says:

I highly doubt that this will work. But you could try emailing east.sheen@msa.hinet.net

What are the prices on that other site in USD?

For conversion to English, try accessing the site from http://www.babelfish.altavista.com/. If doesn't work for me right now, but it might just be my browser.

According to http://www.xe.com/ucc/, 1.00 JPY Japan Yen = .00895973 USD, which makes the 4x4 $67.73 USD and the 5x5 is $79.02 USD. Don't quote me on the currency conversion. If you need to go through a bank or PayPal, they will quote you something different.

Hidetoshi or M0monga, Can you shed some light on this?

Personally I prefer Google Language Tools.

I got babelfish to work for me. Looks like they are sold out of the 4x4x4 DIY kit. The 5x5x5 DIY kit seems to be in stock though.

Those prices don't strike me as any great deals. And I'm sure the shipping from Japan isn't cheap either. I'll wait and see if I get any replies to the emails I've sent. If they are going to get the 4x4x4 back in stock I'd rather only pay the shipping fee once.
