Today, we are happy to announce our new puzzle, Hunter Pillow 2x4x6 Cuboid, which will be mass-produced and bring out to the market about 2 months.

This is designed by Hunter Palshook. The puzzle turns smooth and challenging to solve, but relatively easier than TomZ 4x4x6 cube. We shall have black, white and blue limited edition.

We are currently talking to our worldwide business partners about the pre-wholesales orders. If anyone in the puzzles business and interested to be our oversea partners, feel free to contact me at calvinfan@hknowstore.com .
We would like most of our partners made their pre-wholesales orders and have the cubes in stock in advance. Then, we shall officially release it to the market.

I *just* bought a second 4x4x6 to make one of these! Ugh. But this is an amazing day for cuboid fans! I never thought I'd see an ultimate shape shifter mass produced! Bravo, Calvin!

This is so nifty! Do you have any idea of a price indication Calvin?

Will this puzzle be fully functional? Will it also come in with sharp corners and edges?

Excellent! Knowing this was a shape-mod of the 4x4x6 and could re-use the molds for all but the exterior pieces I was hoping Calvin would pick this up.

Huzzah! Kudos to Calvin and Hunter.

At last!
Having had Hunter's first and only copy in my hands for just a few weeks and then having to send it back, I can finally say my sacrifice was worthwhile!

My story about it is here:

My preview copy has arrived - thank you Hunter and Calvin!

I have scrambled and solved it several times and even discovered a parity free approach to the solve. It is an absolutely wonderful puzzle and I have posted my review on my blog at this address:

http://www.puzzlemad.co.uk/2014/06/its-not-review-its-preview.html

You all need to buy this as soon as it is released - you will not be disappointed!

Just saw your Facebook post.
The blue one looks really nice. It's a shame I made a big order only a few days ago.
Would of been nice to be the first person to get a review and unboxing up on youtube for a change

No doubt I will look into buying a blue one soon enough.
When you say limited edition, how many are produced?

Very exciting :)

Will you ever make non-pillowed versions?

I've had this before.
I had to email them directly so they could manually update the order on your account.

On a sidenote, if you dislike the exposed corners. My original stickers (that can be found on Oliver's sticker site) should fit nicely! Just make sure to use heat when applying the corner stickers.

I received mine a couple of days ago and here is the unboxing (unpacketing)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lzMNTWfZsY . This is a nice puzzle though I am not sure if it is technically pillowed. The sides are flat with large rounded edges which obviously reflect how the original transformation was made. I still wish they would make high order cubes like this.

Mine came yesterday. I'm not thrilled with how much oil is in in and will have to take it apart to clean it out before I let my 3 year old handle it (he like to play with many of my puzzles). Does anyone really speed solve puzzles like this? Do they really need to be factory lubed? Speed solvers have their own personal favorite lubes to use and know how to properly apply it if they feel that they need it.

Some puzzles would be very stiff without it and not everyone even knows about lubing. It's hardly good PR to have people complaining about poor turning simply because they haven't lubed it. My favourite lube doesn't seep out like the stuff used today but I will get attacked if I dare mention it here.

not to expose you to the villagers' wrath, but i've noticed the silicone oil seepage problem you mention, and i've been curious what lube you use in your puzzles.
could you give a clue?
  ...a molecular diagram, perhaps?
...or an acronym of an antonym of a homonym of the brand name?

i would like to avoid having to buy diapers for my puzzles (although i suppose a practical alternative would be to simply invert the puzzles regularly like boxes of dynamite).

I believe Tony is referring to the notorious puzzle eating lube which is similar to "He Who Must Not be Named" in the Harry Potter books insofar as we dare not, under any circumstances, reference it here lest we call forth its' destructive capabilities upon all of our collections!
Suffice it to say that there are rumors this destroyer is descended from the "line o' Vas"

Or of course I could be totally wrong - but that was fun!

but isn't this terrible destructive power only effective on ABS?

When the Rubik's Cube became popular in the early eighties, it was common knowledge that "The Stuff that Must Not be Named" is the best lubrication.
I have used it for many years for all my early mass-produced puzzles. I have never seen any damage to my puzzles.
Now I use a silicone spray (German brand).

I'm not a speedcuber, but after lubrication usually a puzzle turns so much better :)
I think that lube haters loose a lot of fun due a preoccupation.
I cannot imagine playing with Shapeways puzzles without good lubrication!

My stuff doesn't feel greasy at all.

Back on topic: I'm still waiting - as usual - for mine.

I use Cyclo Heavy Duty Silicone Spray which is oil free and therefore doesn't seep out of the puzzle and get on your hands.

I'm not a lube hater. But I am against the overuse of light oily lubes and greases that get on your hands while playing with a puzzle. I don't what to have to wash my hands after handling something that is essentially a toy. And I definitely don't want my kids touching the stuff.

got mine!! what a nice puzzle. for me thats really a fun puzzle and a very good exercise for higher order ultimate shapeshifters. after adjusting the tension and lubing the turning quality is quite well. thanks calvin for this nice puzzle!
One small thing is a little bit irritating. The sticker quality is really poor. Straight out of the box two sticker had rips and after playing for a while some stickers started to peel of. I really miss the time when puzzles came with quality stickers.
Maybe it is just my subjective perception but for me a puzzle with bad stickers feels more like a toy for children. Hm - ok maybe it is a toy and I am just a old child ;-)

happy puzzling...
