Thank you for the review, but unfortunately it doesn't answer the question I really had - how does it compare to "The New Pyraminx" (the pillowed one with the same shape as the Master and Professor)?

I first played with this puzzle at a puzzle party and it was owned by someone else. The solution required no force, and it was quite pleasant.
I recently (at IPP33) bought one for myself, and even knowing the solution had a hard time working it apart because I expected it to move smoothly. I think this puzzle loosens up over time as now I can solve mine with almost no pressure, there is just a hint of friction to slow the pieces down as they are moved through a critical configuration.

So for new owners expect a bit of fiddling/friction. If you can see how pieces might move but they seem a bit stuck, feel free to give it some gentle effort, perhaps wiggling the pieces a tiny. I hesitate to encourage this of any Hanayama puzzle as most should require no force at all if you have everything aligned properly. I also noticed the cast Radix took me a long time to solve because I kept passing over what I though was a dead end, but really just required a bit of pressure to push past. So sometimes these just need some delicate pressure. Knowing when that is appropriate is never easy, but if you suspect your puzzle requires it you might ask another puzzler to confirm.

Dave

Thank you very much for your insight, Dave.

I'll keep solving it to make the movement smoother. This might be due to the mass-production since it does not receive the same care as the first prototypes. The puzzles just need some movement to get their pieces to work properly. I was a bit disappointed with the puzzle, but I can see it's just temporary.

Thanks again

Hi Everybody,

Today's review is for a very original design from Constantin, the Marguerite. The puzzle consists of 15 petals, divided in five layers. Your task is to rotate each layer so that all petals are visible and equally spaced from each other when viewed from the top. Check out the review here.
