Hi I just ordered a Hexaminx from Mefferts in a blue plastic. I know sometimes when they make different colors they use different plastics. Will the blue Hexaminx be a different type of plastic or just dyed? If it is a different type will there be a noticeable difference?

The Hexaminx is made from ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) which in its natural form is ivory/white, so all variants of the puzzle have pigments added during the molding process to create the colours. I suppose the different pigments used could change the properties of the ABS, but I suspect these changes would be quite small and not really noticeable in normal use.
