Do you know the reason for the name SANTA SPIN?

Another mystery
I'm looking forward to see how you can scramble it beyond a 2x2x2.

Okay, some more informations.

Of course it is not a bandaged 6x6x6, it looks like a badaged one.

Gus, it is not an anagram.

goetz and Chris Lohe can solve this mystery, because of their special interest in the world of puzzles.

Is it a 2x2 with interchangeable magnetic pieces and extensions?

It looks like a 3D assembly puzzle with a twisty colour scheme.

Please watch the video for further informations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7j_zPb9cPM

The puzzle based on 8 different interlocking puzzles (60mm x 60mm x 60mm). All of them required rotations for solving (see the latest CFF with this major stories). All of them are 3x3x3 cubes without any hole inside..

Jos Bergmans created in 2012 three of them and gave them the names Santa Ana 1,2 and 3.

Yuuji Shimamura designed in 2010 five puzzles with the name Spin-1,2,3,4 und -7.

That is really lovely! I have never seen an interlocking cube puzzle dressed up like a twisty puzzle!

I have a rather large collection of interlocking cube puzzles (most made from wood but some in Shapeways plastic). I reckon I must have nearly 100 of them now. My favourites for assembly challenge are the ones involving rotations by Bram Cohen, Jeff Namkung and Jos Bergmans - have a look at the Halny cube on Puzzlewillbeplayed for one of my favourites:
http://puzzlewillbeplayed.com/444/Halny/solution.html

Probably my most beautiful and rarest interlocking cube was designed by Bill Cutler and is his unbelievable 66 piece cube:

Claus, this is a fascinating idea and a beautiful puzzle! So many rotations, rotating the 8 corner pieces, and also within the 8 corner pieces when disassembling. Clever concept! :)

Claus,

This is fantastic! Too bad that it just missed the design competition deadline. Please submit next year!

Santa "bloody brilliant" Claus is what I say! That is a very very clever idea. So the "spin" part comes from the twisting motion required to disassemble the cubies? If you gave somebody a completely separated/scrambled puzzle, do you think it would be solvable in a reasonable time?

Now I understand the puzzle. I feel ashamed. I could have known guessed that. Hrrm. Thinking outside the box is difficult.
Can you upload some images of the disassembling process I can use for the museum?

I am sure you will find at least one person during an IPP.

EDIT: added a word to avoid misunderstandings.

Really nice!

Could be seen as a cousin of Tony's Twisted Assembly Puzzle with less twisting but more assembly options.

Please confirm this Claus:
The first two images in your last posting show the inner 2x2x2. They can't be disassembled any further.
Am I right?
