G'day twisty puzzlers! The date for the next Midlands Puzzle Party (MPP) has been confirmed as Saturday the 9th of February 2013. It will be held at 'The Gap' in Warwick, and although the times are TBC it will most likely be from around 09:00 to 19:00. As the MPP is a non-profit organisation a small fee of £5-10 will be collected to cover the cost of refreshments and room hire. The MPP is a chance for like minded puzzle designers, manufacturers & collectors to get together for a day of very informal puzzling over some light refreshments and puzzle related banter. Everyone is invited to bring some of their favourite puzzles along, or even some puzzles to sell/trade if they would like to. But of course you are more than welcome to just bring yourself (a sense of humour could also be useful). It is a great opportunity to see some very rare and interesting puzzles that you may not have come across before. If anyone is interested in attending please let me know so that I can pass it on to the organiser so that he can estimate how much food/drink etc. is needed. Also, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. And here are a couple of videos taken at previous MPPs to give you an idea of what it's like: MPP7 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKOA4PWtwnYMPP6 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_Vn-J57F8wMPP5 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZtLaUL-FHAEdit: If someone can tell me how to embed those YouTube vids I'd be very grateful.

Just a reminder that MPP 9 is going ahead this Saturday! The current confirmed attendance list sits at around 20 people, so it should be a great one!

Oh no! I've only just spotted this post. Is it for "Twisty" people as well? Can I bring some of my cubes? Anyone from this site coming?

Hi Vadim, You are quite welcome to come along and bring as many of your cubes as you wish! I will be there as long as the snow isn't too thick! I should say that of the 16 or so people attending, only a few are interested in Twisty puzzles. As far as I know of those attending only me and Oli (Paradox) are members of TP but at least another 2 are interested in twisties if not maniacal about them like me. I have been asked to bring along a sampler of cuboids and will also bring some others. The primary focus does tend to be other puzzle types (of which I have well over 450!) but if you have anything new and interesting in the twisty field then I would love to see it. Either way, maybe we can entice you into general puzzles as well!

It's always good to meet fellow puzzlers! Vadim, I've sent you a PM with the address. Hopefully I'll see you there tomorrow! Just as a note to anyone else thinking of attending: Please feel free to bring along puzzles of your own either simply to share with everyone else there or to sell/trade.

The Pac Man puzzle in picture 5 is one of my favorite packing puzzles. I'm glad you didn't post the solution.

-d What solution? I think everyone had a go at it and nobody could resolve it. I don't think it's got one! *It's official*

It took me quite a while to find one. Apparently there are at least 3 known solutions according to Chris Enright - the designer.

Oli has changed the title of the thread so we can update as needed. In February we had a great time at the Midlands Puzzle Party (Vadim joined us from TP) and was made very welcome. We have set dates for the next 2 parties and anyone who would like to come is welcome. The next 2 dates are: 20th April 2013 22nd June 2013 It is always held at The Gap in Warwick from 10am to 6pm and costs are minimal - just get there by any means and a small fee of £5 for the rental of the room and assorted light refreshments provided. Of course if you buy anything then don't blame us for the extra expense!! The party is a general puzzle fest but there are plenty of us who like the Twisties and there are usually a good few to play with. Plus of course, just before attending it is usual for people to place requests for puzzles they would like to play with to be brought along. So if you want me to bring my Traiphum puzzles or my 3x5x7 cuboid then you just have to ask. It is preferred that you join the Facebook group for the Midlands puzzle party to get updates and also this allows you to register that you plan on attending (to give us a chance to assess numbers). Midlands Puzzle Party Facebook groupIf you are not on Facebook then that is not a problem, just let me or Oli know via pm and we can put your name down for it. These are always great fun and there's always lots to play with and talk about. Come along - you may even start to enjoy some other puzzles too!

Yay! I'll be able to make the April one! I'll put my name down on the facebook page just as soon as my request to join the group is accepted

Hopefully I'll be able to attend both events, though it is a nearly 3 hour public transport journey. Should be worth it though

Behind X-Dino is my "Leaning tower". You can find it in the museum bit of this site. You can search the museum for Vadim. It will display all my puzzles, that I designed.
I'd better not say at the moment who is producing my X-Dino as I was asked to keep everything a secret... just in case. Vadim
