Today, we are happy to announce our new puzzle, Timur Gear Corner Turning Octahedron with Turning Knob , which will be mass-produced and bring out to the market in 1-2 months. Thanks for the brilliant design of Timur, we have new gear puzzle and legitimate. When the corner turns, the edge gears rotate itself. After a few turns, it has been completely mixed up, and become hard to solve. That is great challenge to most of you who like gear puzzles. With the Turning Knob, it helps a lot and the puzzle turn smooth. Patent number : 2013300207xx.x Attachment:

As most of puzzle friends prefer black and white, we shall have the traditional black and white bodies. Besides, we have 1 limited editions, blue body. We are currently talking to our worldwide business partners about the pre-wholesales orders. If anyone in the puzzles business and interested to be our oversea partners, feel free to contact me at calvinfan@hknowstore.com . We would like most of our partners made their pre-wholesales orders and have the cubes in stock first. Then, we set a lucky date to officially release it to the market. Looks great, congratulations Calvin and Timur. Calvin as a lover of white puzzles, could you possibly put black stickers on the white cube instead of white on white?
Thanks Robert

Face-turning cube ---> corner turning octahedron. Or am I missing something?

No, the other gear octahedron puzzle is the one that is a shape mod of a gear cube. Note the difference between that and this when it comes to the gears and what parts will move when you rotate a corner.

The difference lies in the gear configuration. On this cube the corners have no gearing function but the center is a cog and can rotate aswell. You also can scramble it like a normal 3x3x3 with 90 degree turns of only single sides. That makes it a very complex 3x3x3.

I'd love to see a geared corner and face-turning octahedron. There's a little challenge for all the designers out there. Definitely cool to see this produced though. Congrats to Timur.

He made an octahedron transformation of his geared skewb, but not a face and corner-turning one.

I received mine today. The tool is pretty much useless as it turns much better without using it. Just be mindful of pinch points I do wish it had small stickers on the 3 small center pieces around the central triangle. Maybe someday CubeSmith will make some (they seem to be backlogged more than a year on new puzzles though). I haven't done a scramble and solve yet but will tonight.

Mine came this morning. Turning is great, interesting puzzle. I like to make two remarks though:
1. The tool is indeed useless. Mine has quite sharp edges and might very well damage the stickers
2. After some twisting one of the central triangular pieces managed to fall inside the puzzle. I had to pull the edge gears apart, hold the puzzle upside down and shake it until the piece came out. I think a ball core might avoid this. Am I the only one experiencing this?

I have the same problem with mine. They tend to get loose unless you line up your turns precisely. Has anyone tried lubing theirs yet? I didn't get a chance to try it, and I know it helped immensely when I recieved my gear cube extreme.

I got mine a couple days ago, haven't had any problems with the little triangles mechanically speaking, having a very hard time getting them solved however, I have the puzzle fully solved except the little triangles

As I mentioned in my video review, there's kind of too big free outwards travel for the corner elements, and tightening the screws might help. Calvin said he would take care of this for the next production batch. Also, he's going to redesign the labels.

Forgive me if this is obvious, I don't have my puzzle with me at this time. What does it take to get to the screws to tighten them? Also, Is Calvin going to make the redesigned stickers available to those of us who already bought these?

Happy Lunar New Year ! Everybody ! I have just come back from a tour to Beijing. To see photo, please visit my facebook. Thanks for the videos from Tony. These videos are great help. If you managed not being jammed, you need not the turning knob. ^^ 2 . – Sorry about that. The small triangle should have glued on the base. Somehow, the glue is not strong enough on that piece. You can follow Tony’s video and put the triangle back to the puzzle. Thanks. Volitar Prime wrote: Forgive me if this is obvious, I don't have my puzzle with me at this time. If you feel the screws are not tight enough, you can adjust the screws by removing the caps, details refer to Tony’s video. Yes, both Rox and Timur said the Timur signature is too small. I would like to redesign the Timur signature and put it on the gear edge part in next batch of production. So that, we can see clearly Timur signature.
