Hi everyone,
Previously, there was a limit of 300 private messages per folder in your inbox. This was put in place because of a strict database size limit at our old server host. As you may recall, we switched to a new host this past summer, and one of the benefits is that we no longer have disk space or database size limitations. So when Konrad asked if I could increase the PM limits, I was able to remove them completely. Enjoy!

Oh, this is huge! Thanks, Sandy! I've had to painfully choose and remove messages to free some space under the limit, and that was not an easy task!

Thanks so much! I've been at the limit for more than a year and every time I want a PM I have to go find a few that I no longer want to keep. Thanks

Thanks very much Sandy, I was getting to the point where I was going to have to make some difficult choices!

This is great! I've always struggled to keep PMs under the limit.
If I may suggest another request, could the min time between posts/pms also be lowered or removed? I'm always running into the message "You can't post so soon after a previous post" or something close to that. It's usually when I'm flying through quick PMs. I'm sure this feature is for spam reduction on less-moderated boards?
Thanks again!

I think it's probably the same rate-limit on PMs as it is on posts so maybe don't eliminate it, just cut it down a bit. The other thing would be to increase the number of people you can PM at the same time from 5 to make 25? These two changes would have made the PAW update PMs so much easier...

Thanks again! This. I agree with the old rule about limits between making posts, to prevent spam. But I'm with Jason on this one. Having to wait between PM's is as maddening as stickering a petamimx! -Doug

Looks like the "flood interval" was a mere 45 seconds. You guys must be fast typers/clickers. There seemed little effective difference between arbitrarily reducing it and removing it completely, so I simply removed it. (Note to Doug et al: This setting applies to both forum posts and PMs.) I've also increased the limit to the number of PM recipients to 50. So now someone can ignore the rules and spam us all in very short order if they wish to exchange the good standing of their account for the negative consequences of being a nuisance. If my choice to trust turns out to be a mistake at some point, we can revisit the issue then.
